In this post I will discuss highlights and pioneers in animation history, and Pixar has undoubtedly created many of these over the course of its life.
Pixar was originally created by George Lucas in 1979 as ‘Lucasfilm’s Computer Division.’ John Lasseter joined in 1983, and the company was bought by Steve Jobs in 1986, re-naming it ‘Pixar.’ Between 1986 and 1989, Pixar produced four short animated films, and in 1995 Pixar released the world’s first feature length 3D animated film, ‘Toy Story.’
Carlos Baena is an animator that worked for Pixar from 2002 to 2012. His blog is found at http://www.carlosbaena.com/. He has worked as an animator on animated films such as ‘Finding Nemo’ (2003), ‘Wall-E’ (2008), ‘Toy Story 3’ (2012) and ‘Monster’s University’ (2013).
